What is NDIS?

NDIS, or the National Disability Insurance Scheme, is an initiative of the Australian government to offer financial support to people with disabilities. Managed by the NDIA, the NDIS is governed by the values of Choice and Control, Inclusion and Diversity and Respect and Dignity.

As a support scheme, NDIS aims to ensure the participants’ access to all the relevant services and resources they need to ensure their well-being and promote their growth. The four major NDIS support categories are:

  • Core supports
  • Capital supports
  • Capacity building supports
  • Support coordination

These categories then cover several support services. NDIS funding can be utilised to avail of the ones that best meet your needs. NDIS offers you complete control over your NDIS plan; you can choose any service of your choice, determine the level of support provided, and alter your plan to meet your changing needs.

So, if you are eligible for the scheme, avail yourself of the support and make way for an empowering and growth-oriented life.
